What's better than sitting in front of your TV, drinking an ice cold Budweiser (inspired by Mike Shannon's pregame suggestion), and chanting: "MIGGY! MIGGY! MIGGY!"?
Alright, so maybe there is something a little bit better than chanting "MIGGY" at your TV screen, but nothing is better than watching baseball on the tube, listening to Shannon instead of FOX, and drinking ice cold frosty beverages.
*Unless you've got a girlfriend, then maybe you'd rather watch The Notebook, and drink decaffaineted coffee. But that's your preference. And I'm ok with that.*
Well, I guess I could make a few suggestions here about what I think the Cardinals are going to do now considering they lost out on the Schmidty and Gonzo sweepstakes, but I feel like I'll say something and then two days later somebody else will sign the person I mention and I'll get ripped by loyal readers for being an idiot, and another *bad word.*
I'm joking. Really. I love the responses, whether you think I'm a *bad word* or not. Thanks for reading.
UM, well, I think Miguel Batista is certainly in the running here for that coveted starting pitcher position, but don't forget about Jeff Weaver and Mark Mulder either. Right now, we've got Chris Carpenter, Kip Wells, Anthony Reyes, and Adam Wainwright. That's four starters, and YES Wainwright WILL start in the rotation. Four starters was enough 20 years ago, but it doesn't seem to fly these days. So, look at Batista, Weaver, Mulder, and (cough, cough) Jeff Suppan.
I don't know what the deal with Soup is: I think he's gone, but everyone around me seems to think that the Cardinals will have him back and BIG Walt is just playing around. Who knows? I'm not banking on it.
I'm not giving up on Dontrelle Willis though. Deal with it. BIG Walt is a genius.
Tell me what you think.
Here's mine:
Carp
Batista (who's our #2 starter? Oh Lordy, we're struggling!)
Wells (Is he even a #3?)
Wainwright
Reyes
Lord, thats rough. Looking at that rotation, I'm going to put ALL my faith in BIG Walt to get something done. And, like I said in an earlier post, you just never know what thats going to be.

I might vomit if that is our rotation. Come on big Walt!
Can I get an Amen brother. Jason Marquis will not be a Cardinal next year. Now, Pujols and crew will get the chance to hit homers off of him at Wrigley.
Can anyone say Rick Ankiel?
Yeah, "Rick Ankiel"....O.K., so what about him?
Looking at the rotaion David has, Rick would fit in just slightly above Reyes.
Speaking of baseball boys, did you all know that they banned smoking in Cleveland? Too bad, I guess that goes for the Peace Pipe too.
Here's one for ya....Over or Under? Jason Marquis will allow 35 homeruns next season with the Cubbies. He gave up 35 last year with the birds. The next closest pitcher to that in the NL was Ortiz and Arroyo with 31.
Playing in the Windy City, hoping the wind is blowing to left center, I think Marquis will let up approximately 37. 25 at home.
I go with the under. I say Marquis makes 10 starts, has an e.r.a. of about 10 and will be sent down to the minors to figure it out. Him and his 21 million dollar contract.
