Your semi-weekly, but still quick witted two minutes of trade talkin, bowl ballin, puck handlin' dipsy doodle day!
*The Blues have won three straight under new coach Andy Murray. Lines have changed, units have changed, and goalies are playing good. Nashville tonight. Anybody else thinkin playoff push?
*Jeff Suppan took his bowl of soup north in the direction of central division rival Milwaukee. The Brew Crew and the Soup Express team up to make another strong run the first week of the season and then vanish into space the rest of the way. I guess for millions of dollars even good, admired athletes don't mind being losers. What do you guys think about this? I'm upset.
*The Tigers get set to run the Oregon State Beavers back into the ground (is that where beavers come from?). More coverage on this as the week goes by. That game is set for mid-afternoon on New Years Eve. Honestly, after about 54 days of rest, I don't think anybody can make an accurate prediction on this one. But I'll take Tigers 101, Beavers 0. And Ditka IS at the game.
*Whether its true or not, rumors are stating that Randy Johnson is on the trade block out of New York. If you remember years back, Johnson expressed much interest in coming to St. Louis. Early reports have Arizona interested, but you can bet that BIG Walt has his nose in this. Johnson does have a no-trade clause, so I can't see him going to a losing team considering his contract probably won't change. You guys want the BIG UNIT?
*Did anybody else watch FSN's replay of the World Series games? I sure did, and it was fun. And that game five pitching of Jeff Weavers really made me want him back in the Cardinal red. I'll take Mulder first, but I will have no problem settling with Weaver if need be. Mulder, Weaver, or Johnson - anything is better than having Braden Looper and Tyler Johnson filling out the back end of our rotation. Expect a move soon, I would think.
fun havin' ya!

I'm fine with Suppan leaving. It's his loss. What a loser.
I can live without the Soup, even though I liked him at the end of the rotation. But if the cards don't sign another man we will be hurting... I really don't want to see Looper trying to pitcher more than one inning and right now he is our 5th starter, or so I think. We definatly need another bat... too bad we signed Kennedy so early as Marcus Giles from the Braves went on the market... but although I am very unsatisfied with our offseason signings I still believe we will be competitive considering the cubs will be cubs and have no pitching and the brewers well who cares and I can out hit the Houston Astros so should be an interesting year... Go Cards!
There is absolutely no way that Tyler Johnson will ever be in the starting rotation. Were you thinking about Brad Thompson? He was the other name mentioned along with Looper.
