GIVE ME THE DAMN BALL

You can consider this your weekly, quick-witted two minutes of hell raising FUN!!!

*Just when I about gave up hope, just when I was almost ready to give up, just in my final moments of life when I was ready to say: "Ok. FINE. Give Adam Wainwright the ball in the ninth. Let's give up on Izzy and move in a new direction." JUST THEN, Izzy comes out in the St. Louis Post Dispatch and says: "I AM SICK OF OTHER PEOPLE DOING MY JOB." !!!!!!!

HE'S BACK BABY. Give him the damn ball. He said, "I fully expect to have the ball in my hands in the ninth inning of the first game." This means two things, Izzy is recovering much faster than expected, AND the Cardinals will 1-0 after game one. I can only hope it's against the Cubs.

BIG Walt seconds Izzy's opinion saying that if Izzy continues the pace he's on, then Wainwright will be moved to the starting rotation prior to the season.

It's good to have our closer back isn't it?

*The Cardinals inked Chris Carpenter to a new deal today, a five year 65 million dollar deal, with a club option for an additional year that could make Carp a 77 million dollar man. Is he worth five more years at this price? Who knows, but it is certainly worth it to sign him. If Carp would have had one more great year like his previous two, then tested the market, he would have been paid at record clip. It's the little things that nobody expects that make BIG Walt the genius that he is.

*Rams' football. I told you two weeks ago to not give up and keep watching. Sorry that I made you sit through that Sunday game. You can blast me if you want. They were bad.

*The MU Tigers pigskin squad goes to the Sun Bowl. It's nice to finally move up from Shreveport's Independence Bowl, ain't it? Go Tigers.

*I'm Two Minutes late for class.

Give me the damn ball.

The Rams were terrible but I can't blame it on you. It's time for the coach to step up and take some responsibility. After averaging 12 illegal motions a game it is time to bench Alex Barron. I don't care how high he was drafted or how much money he makes. This is professional football. What are you doing in class when FSN is showing the replay of the Blues game against the Redwings when Brett Hull scored 4 goals and narrowly missed a fifth in the final minute. They won 6 to 5.

What are the Cards going to do if Izzy sucks again once he comes back? They won't move Wainwright out of the rotation because they will likely not have anyone to step in. If Izzy has completely lost it, the Cards will be up a shit creek without a paddle because no one else on that team with the exception of Wainwright can close. The playoffs proved they already have an electric and dominating closer in Wainwright, why change? And don't play the money card because that organization has plenty of money.

It would be too smart to leave a good recipe alone. The starters came up big, but it was that bullpen with WAINWRIGHT at the end that got us a ring. PLEASE leave it alone. Trade Izzy and that contract for another starter.
