Yes, your Majesty

I saw a Cubs fan walking around campus this morning wearing a shirt that said, "Cardinal fans take it in the Pujols." It made me wonder where Ryan Dempster takes it? And to be honest, if he didn't suck already then we'd have to be comparing him to "Who's Your Daddy Brad Lidge" right now after Mr. Pujols took him about 913 feet onto Waveland Sunday evening. Mr. Dempster...meet your majesty. Like I said, Dempster was no Lidge but if he was then you could consider him donseski. Am I the only one who just absolutely loves, more than anything, breaking the Cubs little hearts? I hate the Cubs.

*All of sudden, Jason Marquis can pitch like a Cy Young candidate. What the hell happened? Or is this just a hot start leading up to another laughable second half?

*Does Michael Barrett have a chip on his shoulder?

*I named my cat after Scott Rolen. And, after Sunday, you know why.

*Bernie Miklasz had a column this morning about the "MV3" coming back to life. I'm not sure if they're back or not, I certainly wouldn't put all my chips in that basket. But if they regain some power and Scotty Ballgame can hit around .300 behind Pujols, then we're going to be alright. Chris Duncan can bash, ignore that low average last week. If Pujols starts hitting again, Duncan is going to see many more fastballs in that 2-hole.

*Will Anthony Reyes ever get out of the first inning without giving up a run?

*Kip Wells goes tomorrow. He needs another dominant performance to get that confidence back up, we need him to anchor us until Carp gets back. Braden Looperstar can't do everything himself.

*If you guys figure out where Dempster takes it,let me know.

Rumors are we could see Edmonds moved up to the 2 hole and Duncan batting clean-up. I would love this move. I think Duncan is a good enough hitter to handle the 4 spot and Edmonds would benefit greatly from the 2. What do you think?

No. I hate it. Why not leave Rolen in the four hole and let Duncan get his hacks in the duece? Jimmy has made it clear over the years that he doesn't enjoy batting in the 2-hole, despite him saying recently he wouldn't mind. He doesn't like it, bottom line. He's not comfortable there. Why move Duncan right now? So Preston Wilson can protect him? He can't hit anything off-speed and once you put him behind Albert, pitchers will be able to fool around with him a little more often than they do now. Keep him in the 2 and let him whack fastballs. It may be different once Juan comes back: Jimmy, Albert, Dunc, Rolen, Juan. That's better, but let Dunc stay there and keep mashin while he's hot.

Rolen is the one who has made it clear that he hates batting cleanup. Jimmy, Pujols, Dunc, Ballgame. That would obviously mean that Preston would not be protecting him. Duncan is a better hitter than you give him credit for.

is he, givemethat? what about that o-for stint last week when pitchers were striking him out with offspeed after offspeed after offspeed. i agree with anonymous, keep him where he can hit fastballs over the fence al year.

why do you guys keep referring to ted williams (ballgame)? i would also love to see him in the birds lineup instead of rolen but i dont think we will see that.

Quoting a line from a movie, "Ted Williams would roll over in his freezer" if he heard people using his nickname to describe Scott Rolen.

Rolen's not a bad player, he's definately no Ted Williams, but he's not bad. The again Ted WIlliams would not whine if he got benched if his team had a better chance at winning in the NLCS with Scott Spiezio playing.

We need Carp back in a bad way. Wells is starting to look like the next Marquis
