I got things to say:
I went to the store this evening with two purposes. Number one being to get a box of Ritz Crackers to go with my block of cheese and stick of deer sausage. The second to grab a couple cans of cat food.
I came home with a frozen pizza. That's it.
Let's start with politics......and sports -
*THANKS FOR SENDING MONEY AMERICA.
-This is a big THANK YOU to all of you who sent money, or thought of sending money, or prayed, or even so much as thought of praying for all of those who struggled through the unfortunate event in New Orleans. THANK YOU. THANK YOU. THANK YOU.
Tell your kids, if and when you have them, that you won your local Monday night second place trophy in your local Monday night Golf League. Tell them you played a stellar shortstop for the Cape Girardeau Golden Bears when you were in high school. Tell them how you starred as a left fielder for your mens Softball league once you went over the hill. But right before they go to bed, please tell them of all the help you've given to those stricken with unfortunate events. That's what they really need to hear.
*Here's to all those who helped revive New Orleans*
If you haven't guessed already, I'm on the Saints bandwagon. And I wasn't until Saturday afternoon when I saw a sign in the crowd that read "THANKS FOR SENDING MONEY AMERICA." Whether you believe in "America's Team" or not, believe in this: The Healing Power of PEOPLE. Get behind the Saints, they must be underdogs, AND they are truly an amazing story.
IN OTHER NEWS:
MISSOURI vs. Kansas: BORDER WAR!!!
*Uhm....I had all kinds of cool things I was going to say about Kansas until about two minutes left in the game. NOW....?
I feel sick. Listen, you can't win the close ones unless you do the small things. And MU never seems to do the small things.
*However, I do like the look of Mike Anderson on the MU sideline. He presents a sort of confidence that hasn't been a part of Missouri Basketball since Stormin' Normin' Stew. Give Anderson five years. Fire Pinkel.
HOCKEY: Do you really think I would include the BLUES in the TWO MINUTES section?
NO. They're too good for that. STAY TUNED for tomorrow's edition of BLUES ARE HOT! - complete with Braggin' rights for myself, semi-midseason predictions, and straight love for MANNY, MANNY,MANNY!
*The Birds signed Mark Mulder. I think I remember last season driving home from a Cardinals game and listening to the radio and hearing fans speak of nailing Mulder to a tree. Not so bad now, is he? Listen, I've always been a fan of Mulder. I've always believed he was hurt and that was excuse for his poor pitching. And I've always been vocal about that (check past blogs.) It seemed like it was me against the world. All of a sudden though......all of a sudden....all my Columbia friends are acting like they never said a bad thing about Marky Mark. All of a sudden he's back to being "the most winning left hander in the last five years."All of a sudden he's back to being "oh, he was just injured. He'll be fine." All of a sudden there is nobody left and the Cardinals had to sign Mark Mulder, and now everybody is acting like they loved him all along. *Another example of fair weather St. Louis fans*
*OH NO!!! BIG MAC didn't make it into the Hall of Fame. GOOD. He Cheated. Somebody please post a response on this blog saying that BIG Mac should make it, and Barry Bonds shouldn't. Because it would make no sense, and I would make fun of you. Yes, Bonds is a Jackass. Mac is not. Yes Bonds is a punk to the media. Mac is not. Yes Bonds doesn't play for the Cardinals. Mac did. It doesn't matter, they both cheated. There is no getting around that. Neither deserve to get in.
Congrats to Cal and Tony. They played the game right.
*St.Louis gets the All-Star game for 2009. That's the most exciting thing since MU football's hot start (didn't turn out so well,) MU's basketball's hot start (now 0-4 in the conference,) and semosportsweb.com "the buzz" comment about banging Tara Reid (really just a good idea all around.)
*Later This Week: Cardinal Baseball and Heavy D's Breakdown of the offseason. Including offseason signings, minor league going-abouts, David Eckstein, Chris Duncan, PHAT ALBERT, Adam Wainwright, and what to do about all that pitching. STARTING ROTATION: Franklin in, Wainwright out???
*Fun Havin' Ya. Pizza es Bueno.

Big Mac SHOULD be in. I said it. No doubt about. He never did anything against the rules of baseball. Even if he did take steroids, which weren't against the rules of baseball, who didn't. Are you to tell me that players in the Hall are all clean. My guess is that 50% of the members have used steroids at some point in time. ESPN polled all of their "experts", and Big Mac got every vote to get in. On ESPN radio, someone was saying that one of the female voters said that she wouldn't vote for Mac because she wouldn't be able to look her kid in the eye and say what she did. Take her vote away. For God's sake.
I'm not going to lie. I love Mulder (now). Oh yeah, and the Blues too. Can't wait for tomorrow!
Everybody knows I hate ESPN gossipking. So throw their vote out when it comes to my blog. NewYorkBostonTomBrady punks. Turn off ESPN and get with the real sports experts, semosportsweb.com.
Go BIG or Go Home!
If you break down to tears at a congressional hearing on Capital Hill, you're not eligible for the Hall of Fame. Nor are you eligible if you are a sick, lying, cheating, self-indulged, swollen-headed, teammate-hating, embarrassment-son-of-Bobby-Bonds. Give it up, Barry! How long 'til Eckstein is eligible?
That's fine with me. I agree. Take everybody out of the Hall and then start over. That's what it will have to take to get it clean.
Mac didnt do anything illegal in Major League Baseball. Sure he prolly shouldve confessed and probably wouldve been in. Lets argue if rubber tires became illegal in NASCAR after Dale Earnhardt drove. Would DE be let into the HOF? Uhh Yeah? Should Mike Jordan be in the HOF, even though they are using a new kind of basketball now? Let the big man in. Hell let Barry Bonds in too. The man's going to be the all time leading homer dinger, even if he juices the buns, ya got to have some talent to hit a baseball. Jose Canseso juiced, he never hit 700 deep flies. Only 462, sorry, no way Jose. Hehe. Byron Neslon, HOF? He had to use wood clubs, was he cheating? In the words of Paul Wall, "I'm on the block, posted up like a mail box."
Mr. Buckner,
What you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone on this blog is now dumber for having read it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.
Bill, that truely was the dumbest thing I have ever read. I feel I should slam my head into a locker until I am no longer functional. Thank you Bill.
Hell, I actually thought Bill's response was great. It made me reconsider my rationale.
McGwire, Bonds, and Sosa should all be in the Hall of Fame. So should Pete Rose....for what he accomplished playing the game of baseball. I really don't see how people can vote against the steroid sluggers..unless you can tell me that everyone in the Hall is steroid free. And I don't think you can.
Where can I sign up for the Saints bandwagon?
Let's just put everyone who ever played the game of baseball in the Hall of Fame. That will take care of this whole issue. Sosa deserves no spot in the Hall; he used a corked bat (yes, it was on purpose) then proceeded to take a 100% nosedive when the majors cracked down on steroids. He's a joke. I don't care how many homers you hit; a lot of guys can juice and hit a ton of homeruns. That's all Sosa did -- he was an outrageously terrible fielder who actually hurt himself sneezing one time. Give me a break! Go back to the Dominican and stay there, Sammy. And take McGwire, Bonds, Canseco, and Palmeiro with you. Please leave Pete Rose, Babe Ruth, Willie Mays, Lou Brock, Cal Ripken Jr., Kirby Puckett, Tony Gwynn, and Hank Aaron. Those guys actually deserve to be here.
How can we leave Pete Rose when he's not even in?
big mac didn't cheat. period. what did he do wrong. please someone tell me. he used every advantage he could against his oppenents. that's not cheating. that's one hell of a smart baseball player.
Like I have said before... everyone is saying he cheated?? And yeah I do suspect he used steroids... but what happened to the America way?? Innocent until proven guilty ring a bell to anyone?? He was never caught so how could he be accused of cheating??
